How to use Tap to Pay on your phone

With Tap to Pay on SQUIRE, you can accept all types of in-person, contactless payments, right on your phone — from physical debit and credit cards, to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra readers or hardware needed. It’s easy, secure, and private.

Tap to Pay is currently only available for US-based users on iOS. It is available in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland for Android users.

Using Tap to Pay is simple and only requires your Barber account to have Register Permissions. This can be provided by a Shop account or by contacting SQUIRE Support.


Note: for iPhone, this feature requires iOS devices on version 16.7 or later. For Android, you need a compatible Android device and Android 9 software or later.

Open SQUIRE Commander on a compatible iPhone.

Select Charge, then select Tap to Pay.

The first time you use Tap to Pay, a firmware update is installed. Wait until the firmware update is complete before moving to the next step.
