EY has named Songe LaRon and Dave Salvant, co-founders of Squire Technologies, as winners of the 2025 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award for the New York region. The award recognizes the most ambitious and innovative entrepreneurs who are transforming industries and creating positive change.
Dave and Songe were honored for their work building Squire into the leading system for barbers, modernizing a centuries-old industry through technology. The platform powers everything from booking and payments to business management, helping barbers focus on what they do best, serving their clients.
“From day one, our mission has been bringing the best technology to barbers, allowing them to make more money, operate better, and have more time for their families,” said LaRon. “Winning this award is a reflection of those incredible barbers who trusted us from day one and the team at Squire who’ve helped bring this vision to life”
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® program is one of the most prestigious business awards for transformative leaders and creators of high-growth companies. As regional winners, LaRon and Salvant now advance to the national competition to be held in November 2025.
“This journey started with a simple haircut and a big idea,” added Salvant. “It’s surreal to see how far we’ve come, and we’re just getting started.”
This recognition from EY is a powerful testament to the dedication of every barber and shop owner who uses Squire to elevate their craft and business. We're incredibly proud to stand alongside you as we continue to redefine the future of the grooming industry. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
